In the years 1941 and 1942 Yehuda lived in a “Hashomer Hatzair” commune in Budapest. In 1943 he was enlisted in a forced labor unit. In October 1944 he escaped with sixteen of his friends thanks to forged documents supplied by the movement and at once joined the underground activities in the “Glass House”.
Yehuda made aliya in 1945 and was a member of Kibbutz Yehiam.
